THE SOCIAL DISTANCING DISTANCE CHALLENGE WAS ACCEPTED AND COMPLETED.

WHAT?
The Social Distancing Distance Challenge is a 3 day running event, featuring a 5k, a 10k, and a Half Marathon
WHEN?
Friday April 10th, Saturday April 11th, and Sunday April 12th
WHERE?
In accordance with social distancing (which we all should be doing at all times) This will be a VIRTUAL event, that takes place WHEREVER YOU ARE!!!
WHY?
Our world is changing, and the realities surrounding the novel Coronavirus are impacting us all each and every day. Everyday life has pretty much changed completely over the last month. The Olympics, March Madness, all schools, all major events, and of course all running events and races...everything is being cancelled! We as a nation and more importantly as the human race are trying to stop the spread of this disease and #FlattenTheCurve. That being said....Fitness and Wellness is even more important that ever. This is a stressful time! With gyms being closed, and your routine fitness classes likely cancelled....running and working out at home are things that can be done to keep you mind and body sharp. This event was created with these thoughts in mind. Whether you've had a planned race cancelled, or you're looking for something to do and train for, or even if your a weekend warrior looking to challenge yourself just because... This event is for you!!! Let this be a reminder to yourself, and the world, that despite this pandemic,
FITNESS, RUNNING, WALKING, TRAINING, HEALTHY LIFESTYLES, DISCIPLINE, AND HARD WORK...WILL NOT BE CANCELLED!!!

EVENT DETAILS
Anyone and everyone is FREE to complete the 5K, the DOUBLE Challenge, or the FULL challenge distances during the weekend. To complete the challenge, participants must do the distances on the days listed below...
  • The 5K must be done on FRIDAY, April 10th
  • The 10k must be done on SATURDAY, April 11th
  • The Half Marathon must be done on SUNDAY, April 12th
The DOUBLE challenge is to complete the 5K and the 10k in back to back days.
​The FULL challenge is to complete all 3 races in back to back to back days, for a total of 22.4 miles in 3 days!!!

After completing the distances, please screenshot, and email your workout to FitnessSpellsWellness@gmail.com or @CMSpells on Social Media
All finishers will receive a beautiful, pristine, personalized, finisher certificate. FULL challenge finishers will also be entered in a raffle with a chance to win a FREE FitnessSpellsWellness event shirt, Qurewater, and some HoneyStinger snacks.
SOCIAL DISTANCING REMINDER
This event is a virtual run, which means that there is no official meeting, starting, or ending location. We all should be running this solo, or at least 10 FEET away from all others. Please be SAFE and take social distancing seriously. Here is an article from the LA Times on the do's and don'ts of outdoor exercise in this climate. 
READY TO RUN!!!
Remember, this is a RACE WEEKEND!!! So, go ahead and get excited and treat it like it is! Go ahead and set some personal goals for the event. Put on your normal race gear. Snap a pre-race photo post on social media. Get some rest. Hydrate before, during, and after.
